What Is KRā for Play?
As lifelong athletes and parents ourselves, we firmly believe all kids deserve the opportunity to play sports because we know the role they can play in helping kids maintain healthy lifestyles and develop the skills they need to succeed in life.
We developed our KRā for Play program to provide needed support to disadvantaged youth sports programs across the country, giving all kids the opportunity to get onto the field or court and play! The Best of KRā for Play 2017
A Very Special KRāsgiving!
Together, KRā and Chicago Bears WR Cameron Meredith and his friends from the Chicago Bears brought a delicious Thanksgiving dinner and more to the kids at The Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in Chicago. Cameron was able to promote the program and solicit donations across over 10 different TV and Radio programs in Chicago and together with partners, like Mariano's, Greenridge Farm, Wilson Sporting Goods, Sprinkles Cupcakes, and Simon & Schuster, Cam and KRā were able to donate over $20k to the Mercy Home!
KRā For Play For Beacon House DC
Nothing beats helping kids in need around the holiday season, which is why we were super excited to bring some of DC's finest football + futbol stars together for a good cause! In December, we worked with the Washington Redskins DT Jonathan Allen + DC United Midfielder Russell Canouse to collect sports equipment from the community for underprivileged youth as a part of our KRā for Play Initiative.
The equipment was then donated to Beacon House, which "provides children in the Edgewood neighborhood of Northeast Washington, DC with a safe, nurturing, and life-expanding community in which to increase their academic achievement, discover their talents, and to grow into healthy adults who achieve their greatest potential." The program also features after-school sports programs to help kids grow and learn how to achieve both on and off the field.

KRā For Play + GRIII
What began as mutual admiration and fandom is growing into something so much more. As basketball fans, we've followed Glenn Robinson III since his days at the University of Michigan, and have watched excitedly as he's grown into a complete NBA player with the Indiana Pacers. You can imagine our excitement when we learned GRIII was also a fan of ours, too!
As we began talking with GRIII, we learned he was going to be competing in the 2017 NBA Dunk Contest and we just knew he was going to do something big. Glenn is a huge advocate of youth sports and supports underserved youth both in his hometown of Gary and throughout the Indianapolis area, so we thought we might add a little extra incentive, promising to donate cases of KRā and sports equipment to a charity of his choosing if he won.
And win he did, totally dominating the entire field and putting up two perfect scores out of his four attempts! We were pulling hard for him and were doubly excited to make good on our promise of donating gear as a part of our KRā for Play initiative.
To cap things off, we headed to the Shepard Community Center in Indianapolis with Glenn and a car full of brand new sports equipment and KRā for all. Putting smiles on kids faces AND teaching them the importance of making healthy choices is a win-win for us!
Cleats for KRā
Every household that has young soccer players in it has a few things in abundance like energy, smelly socks and a plethora of old cleats that no longer fit. But just because those cleats are no longer in use, doesn't mean that they aren't useful.
So we teamed up with AYSO 418 in Chicago for their Soccerfest 2017 to encourage players and families alike to donate those old cleats to America Scores Chicago, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to "inspire urban youth to lead healthy lives, be engaged students, and have the confidence and character to make a difference in the world".
For every pair of cleats donated, we returned the favor with a free KRā. The result? A whole slew of cleats that ultimately went to a great cause! Real.Good.Hydration doing Real.Good.Things in the community!
